Owner Surrender Request - Helping Cats Transition Safely Into Their Next Chapter

We know that surrendering a cat is never an easy decision. Life changes, unexpected challenges, and difficult circumstances happen. Our goal is to make this process as thoughtful and supportive as possible—for both you and your cat.

North Park Cat Rescue focuses on placing friendly, adoptable cats into loving homes, often through our partner lounge, Whiskers & Wine. Because of our limited capacity and foster-based model, we carefully evaluate each surrender request to ensure we can provide the best possible outcome.

Surrender Requirements

To be considered for intake, cats must meet the following:

  • Friendly and social with people (able to be safely handled)

  • Spayed or neutered

  • Up-to-date on core vaccinations

  • Negative SNAP test (FELV/FIV)

  • Recent veterinary visit within the past 30 days

  • In good general health

In addition:

  • A $200 surrender fee is required upon acceptance

  • A member of our team will schedule a meet-and-greet to evaluate temperament and fit before intake

These requirements help ensure your cat can safely transition into our foster network or adoption space and quickly find a new home.
