Fostering is one of the most powerful ways you can help. By providing a temporary safe space, you give cats the chance to heal, grow, and prepare for adoption. North Park Cat Rescue supports our fosters with training, supplies, and ongoing guidance, so you’re never alone on the journey. Many of our foster cats also spend time at Whiskers and Wine Bar, where they meet potential adopters in a welcoming environment. With your help, more cats will have the chance to find the forever families they deserve.

Fostering Saves Lives
At North Park Cat Rescue, our foster homes are the heart of our rescue work. Every foster home allows us to say “yes” to more cats, whether they are tiny kittens who need time to grow, shy cats learning to trust, friendly adults waiting for adoption, or cats recovering from medical care.
You provide the love, patience, and safe space. We provide the support, supplies, veterinary coordination, and community to help you every step of the way.
We Make Fostering Easy
Fostering should feel supported, not overwhelming. NPCR works hard to make the process as smooth as possible for our fosters.
Supplies Are Provided
We help provide the basic supplies needed to care for your foster cat or kittens, including food, litter, and other essentials when available. Supply coordination is simple, and most pickups can be arranged online.
Veterinary Care Is Coordinated
You are not on your own when it comes to medical care. NPCR helps coordinate approved veterinary appointments, vaccines, spay/neuter scheduling, and other needed care. We help guide you through what your foster needs and when.
Support Is Always Close
Our foster community stays connected through our NPCR Discord chat, where fosters and volunteers can ask questions, share updates, coordinate supplies, celebrate wins, and get support from people who understand rescue life. Whether you have a quick kitten question or just want to share a cute photo, there is a community ready to cheer you on.
A Rescue Community
Fostering with NPCR means joining a kind, cat-loving group of fosters, volunteers, and supporters. We also host foster and volunteer pawties, giving everyone a chance to connect, celebrate adoptions, meet other rescue people, and enjoy the community behind the mission.
