Rescue Partnership & Cat Transfer Program

North Park Cat Rescue partners with fellow rescues to give adoptable cats more visibility, more socialization, and ultimately, a faster path to a forever home.

Through our partnership with Whiskers & Wine in San Diego, many of our cats are showcased in a unique, social adoption environment where they can meet potential adopters in a relaxed, engaging space.

If your organization is looking for placement support for friendly, adoption-ready cats, we’d love to collaborate.

Transfer Requirements

To ensure a smooth transition and successful adoption placement, cats must meet the following:

  • Friendly, social, and comfortable around people

  • Spayed or neutered

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations (Rabies and 2-3 FVRCP vaccinations)

  • Flea-treated and dewormed

  • Negative SNAP test (FELV/FIV)

  • Healthy and cleared for adoption

Placement & Adoption Environment

  • Most transferred cats will be placed at Whiskers & Wine, where they are introduced to adopters in a highly interactive setting

  • Cats should be well-suited for a social, semi-active environment

  • Our team works closely with partners to ensure proper fit and timing for intake
