Foster Cat Assessment Survey - Week One

Please complete this assessment based on your foster cat’s typical behavior during their first week in your home. Your observations will help us understand the cat’s confidence, preferences, stress responses, and support needs before a possible transition to Whiskers and Wine.

The 3-3-3 guideline can be used as a general framework for understanding adjustment:

  • The first three days are often a period of decompression.

  • The first three weeks are often spent learning the household routine.

  • It may take three months or longer for a cat to feel fully settled.

Hiding, observing from a distance, reduced play, and limited exploration can all be normal during the first few days. Every cat adjusts differently, so this timeline is not a deadline or a pass-or-fail test.
